Team Infinity believes that practice makes perfect, and to this end, we assign occasional homework. We expect that students will complete homework when it is assigned, as it helps them better understand the concepts we teach. Because our classes meet every other day, students have time to ask questions of us if there are any misunderstandings about the assignments, and we encourage them to do so during homeroom, advisory, or study hall. Students should expect to have homework on a regular basis in most of their classes on team. When homework is incomplete, students lack a clear understanding of the concepts, are unprepared for the next class activity, and their progress reflects this. We appreciate parental support in our venture to have 100% of homework completed throughout the school year.
The LUMS assignment notebook is a useful tool in the quest for completed homework. Students are all given an assignment book at the beginning of the year, and expected to use it to keep track of their daily assignments. At the conclusion of each class, students record homework and are given a stamp or teacher initials to indicate that it was written correctly. We encourage parents to check the assignment notebook on a regular basis in order to stay informed of the lessons happening on team. When used on a daily basis, the assignment notebook system works well to keep everyone informed and on track.
